Built to last

Our clothes are built to last. For each garment, we painstakingly examine different materials and construction methods to arrive at the best possible options for style and strength. Carrying forward the same principles, we ignore fleeting fads and fashions. Instead, we take inspiration from vintage and military styles which have lasted for long. Balancing style with utility, we opt for minimalism - eliminating non-functional attributes while adding features often ignored by fast fashion.

Our aim is to help you build a flexible wardrobe with minimum number of high quality garments. Along with classic styles and rugged construction, we also opted for versatility. Our clothes thus will work in a broad range of situations. Specialized Monks of Method garments, if at all, are limited in number.

We have also chosen to disregard the practice of churning out seasonal collections. Our clothes will not go out of fashion season to season. Being versatile, they are likely to serve you well in most seasons and situations.

We would like you to buy less and get more wears out of each piece. It is good for the world, and you too.

Industrial Finish + Personal Fit

Most of the clothes you wear day to day such as jeans, khakis, jackets, denim shirts etc. are not available custom made for you. The industrial processes of construction and washing garments are not available to the local tailors. Ready-to-wear garments, on the other hand, make you to compromise on fit.

At Monks of Method, we offer personalized fit within the constraints of the business model. We allow you to customize your order as long as it does not compromise the style, and make each garment specifically for you. You get the best of both worlds - industrial finish of ready-to-wear with personalized fit of made-to-measure. We will pull out all stops to get the fit right on your first purchase of each type of garment. Once you are satisfied, next time will be breezy, as we store your custom measurements for future purchases.

Do no harm

Our production processes are designed to leave minimum environmental footprint. All materials used to make your clothes are natural and organic, developed using sustainable processes. Our garments are made with with GOTS and Fairtrade certified cotton and natural fibers such as TENCEL™ Lyocell by Lenzing. We manufacture our garments in Dibella India, pioneers in sustainable production. In case we use any polyester, rest assured it will be derived from recycled materials.

We have combined such sustainable production methods with  a made-to-order process minimizing inventory. Along with our lifetime services for repairs and refurbishing, the entire system is designed to eliminate waste.

Our clothes do not carry logos in visible places. But “No logo”, goes beyond mere logos. Ours is a movement about rediscovering the lost art of craftsmanship of the local artisan in the face of rampant consumerism and use-and-throw culture. Monks of Method marries local craftsmanship with sustainable materials and industrial processes to manufacture limited quantities of high quality clothes. We then leverage technology to reach out to global audience who value quality and style.

Life time repair services

Our garments are built to last. However, certain wear and tear creep up in the course of time. To help you maximize the use of each Monks garment, wherever repair is possible, we offer to repair them. If you just need some spare parts such as buttons, you can always reach out to us and we will supply them.

You can send us old Monks items which you do not want to use. Our experts will assess the state of the garment and design an appropriate strategy to refurbish or recycle them. In return, you will receive Monks rewards which you can use for your next purchase. None of your Monks pieces will go waste; and you get rewarded for it too.

You are our partner
