Most men compromise on shorts. Too tapered, too tight, too short, or too flimsy to hold their shape past the first wash. Faro fixes the lot. A clean flat front, just enough taper through the thigh, a length that sits properly above the knee, cuffed hems that give the leg some substance. The kind of shorts you can wear to a beach, a brunch, or a bar, without feeling underdressed at any of them.
This edition is cut from a lightweight cotton twill, a touch lighter than the cloth on our Classic Chino. The lighter weight is a deliberate choice. Shorts ask less of a fabric than trousers do, and a thinner cloth moves better, dries faster, and sits cooler against the leg in heat. The hand is soft from the first wear, the weave is dense without feeling heavy, and the fabric holds its shape through wash after wash. It does not need a season. It does not need a wash-in period. Pull them on and go.
Wear them with a polo and white sneakers for the easiest version, an Oxford button-down and loafers when you want to look pulled together, a tee and slip-ons for the weekend default. They go everywhere you go. To the office on a hot day. To dinner when you do not feel like trousers. On the kind of long Indian afternoon that does not commit to a season. The shorts you put on without thinking, and find yourself in for most of the year.
